Natures Handywork

For my visitors  in the Northern Hemisphere,
with winter coming on here are a few photos
from my garden to add some colour to your day.

Inspiration for our flower embroideries can be just outside our
door. I take many photos of trees, flowers and gardens.
Great for inspiration and a guide in recreating them in ribbon.
Along with the great photos you can now search for online.

The hydrangeas and agapanthus are flowering well and the frogs
are happy to sit and enjoy it too.
Many people do not believe that you can grow hydrangeas in the
sub tropics, but this is proof  that you can.

My water feature and pond
is not far away.

Hint:  When choosing Silk Ribbons for your project, you may have
noticed how much the light you are working under can change the
colour of the ribbons.  I use a Daylight Lamp at night time, if I am
embroidering.
Choosing the colour under Artificial light does not give you an accurate
tone of your ribbon and  may result in you  having to pull out work
already completed.
Another hint is to place the ribbons over a white background.  There are
so many different colour hues, that at times this is the only way to
match them.
